Caribbean Villas > Vacation Suites > Montserrat
Our names are Peter & Georgia Remond, and we discovered Montserrat in the early 80's after Island-hopping through the Caribbean with friends. When we got to Montserrat, we just had to stay.
The island was perfect. Very small, incredibly friendly, and completely unspoiled by tourism (affordable, quiet, clean, and sincere). The absence of crime, poverty, and bugs, coupled with safe drinking water (from natural springs) made it an easy choice for a young family.
After several years of renting villas, we decided that there could be no better place to get away and retire, so we bought Seascape Villa.
Seascape is not like any other villa on Montserrat. It was built by a Canadian master builder for his own family, and so it has the largest private pool on island, a double-roof, stunning layout, and is built to withstand anything the Caribbean throws at it.
Montserrat is famous for it's 'Brigadoon' like quality - it seems to exist in a fairy tale.
Sparkling beaches that you often have completely to yourself, lush rainforest vegetation, the total absence of traffic lights, and wonderful fresh food make it a seem like it belongs to an era before the world went mad. The pace is so relaxed that you will soon operate on 'island time' - where you realize that you do not know, or care to know, what time it is. We go to Montserrat to 'unplug' from the frenetic pace and information overload of daily life. The views are never-ending, the beaches unspoiled, the community welcoming, and connecting to the outside world is completely optional.
Many people who lead high-profile public lives own property or vacation on Montserrat - where they are guaranteed peace and quiet, and genuine conviviality. We have made lifelong friends who also make Montserrat their home away from home. We hope you will come explore the island that won our hearts.
